The following people were shining examples of the compassion, generosity, and selflessness that abounds amongst humans. A reminder in a cruel world, that there are still GOOD people amongst us. Our deepest condolences to their family and friends. W.H.E. will remember them always as heroes!
WHE would like to extend our sincerest condolences to the friends and family of John Slaughter who passed away Thursday, May 2nd at his home in Clarksville.John’s wife, Fawnda, contacted us to let us know that he asked that donations be made to our organization in lieu of flowers. We could not be more honored and humbled by this generosity.
In memory of John, his passion for animals, and the generosity of his family and friends, W.H.E. named this 9 year old Australian Terrier pulled from Animal Control in his honor. Meet Ricky (John’s nickname since childhood), our newest adoptable. He has great things in store for him, and his life will always be a memory of the life of a compassionate, loving, husband, father, friend, and rescuer. |
After the tragic passing of Bill Finley, his family and friends, long time supporters of Willy’s Happy Endings chose to honor his memory by sponsoring the rescue and care of one dog. Their donation allowed us to pull this tiny Pomeranian with a severely broken leg from a shelter, amputate the leg, and fully vet him. In honor of this, the dog was named Finley. He recovered well and was later adopted by a human amputee. It is one of our favorite adoption stories and WHE will always remember Bill fondly and hold his family and friends in our prayers. |
